She spent her childhood with family, surrounded by wonderful friends in the Gurney Court neighborhood. These years always held a special place in her heart.
I Michie was a surgical technician with Sovah Health Systems in Danville, Va. and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Burlington. She was a graduate of Guilford Day. School (currently named Noble Academy) of Greensboro, N.C. Class of 2006.
She received an Associate of Arts degree from GTCC i in 2014 and an Associate of Science degree at American National University, Danville, Va. in 2016. While attending school she excelled in theatre production and performance. Michie also completed an animal study internship with Carolina Tiger Rescue, Pittsboro, N.C.; Archaeology Workshops in Illinois; clinical training in Danville and Roanoke, and recently received a Reiki 2 Certification. Michie was an advocate and caregiver for all animals.
She volunteered at the Conservation Center in Alamance County and various other animal agencies throughout her life. She enjoyed being outside, kayaking, music, camping, and sharing time and laughter with family and friends. Michie was our family sparkler, our cheerleader, our joy. Haller G. "Hal" Prillaman, 86, of Martinsville, Virginia, peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020, surrounded by family. Hal was born in ville, Virginia pn June 25, 1933. He graduated from Martinsville High School in 1951 and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Science with a major in Industrial Engineering from Virginia Tech. Hal was married, to Wanda Prillaman on June 15, 1957; they were married for 57 years. They had one daughter, Ann Haller Prillaman, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
After college, Hal took a job with Celanese Corporation for two years before becoming Vice President (and eventually President) at Prillaman Chemical Company, a corporation originally started. by his father in 1936. Hal and his brother, Nick Prillaman, grew the business gradually over the next 26 years. They focused on providing finishes to the furniture industry in the beginning, but eventually expanded to a range of specialties and added a chemical merchanting operation to the original blending business. In 1984, Hal and Nick Prillaman sold the business to Ellis Everard out of the.
United Kingdom. At the time of the sale, Prillaman Chemical Company was producing $35 million in annual sales. Hal was also actively involved in the community and held numerous leadership positions during his life. Nancy Bell, spokesperson for the dis-58 trict, announced 13 new cases. in Henry County, one in tinsville, two in Patrick County and one in Franklin County. The cases in Henry County were eight females ages 10 to 90s, and five males, ages 10s to 60s.
3 Martinsville's new case is a female in her 30s, and Patrick County has two males, in their 40s and 70s. The Virginia of Health reports on Thursday morning reported 214 total cases in Henry County. The number hospitalized had increased to 20 after having dropped by one on Wednesday. Bell didn't respond to a question asking about those changes. at Martinsville has cases, with seven hospitalized, and Patrick County has with two hospitalized.
Franklin- County has 46 cases. Five people in the district have died of COVID-19, including three in Henry County and one each one each in Martinsville and Franklin County. Statewide totals on Thursday morning rose to 56,238 cases and 1,586 deaths (only three more than Wednesday).
